Hi, I’m Dr. Joanne Ketch (LPC-S, LMFT-S, LCDC, SAP, DPC), but most clients call me Dr. Jo
My early career in business hit a wall because my alcohol use eventually prevented me from “reaching my full potential.” My mentors were baffled because my trajectory and history showed that I should have achieved “more” and “more quickly” but what wasn’t obvious to them was that I was drinking massive amounts of alcohol daily and it was getting worse.
It didn’t make sense.
I fit the characteristics of a “high-functioning person with an alcohol use disorder” exactly. Even with as much as I was drinking, I was driven, high achieving, productive, “type A,” and in many ways successful.
Does that sound like you?
Thankfully, I found my way out. I got sober, learned to manage stress effectively, and began to truly enjoy life. Through celebrations, life transitions, major stressors, and career demands, I learned to thrive—without the need for a drink.
Now, after over 15 years of sobriety and advanced professional training, I’ve developed my THRIVE framework to help other professionals like you find balance, manage stress, and build a sustainable, fulfilling sober life. It’s my mission to empower you to not only get sober but to thrive with clarity, purpose, and success.
